Things Change and So Do People (Chapter 9)

She darted through the wooded forest. This time, not for her own sake, but for her friends. Her best friend. The one that was with her through thick and thin when she needed him, the one that needed her now. With that, she sped through the trees hastily. Searching high and low she found no trace of life.
Jesse stumble to the ground, her steam had drifted into paper thin air. Slowly, unpeacefully, she glided into a heavy sleep.

Run,run, fast my child,
Fore the big, great wolf is savage and wild
Glide,glide, far my child,
Find a safe haven,
You'll be okay for a while.

Her eyes shot open. Her mothers old nursery rhyme spun through her head like a bullet through the skull. It was a lie. Was everything about wolves being horrible and blood thirsty...a lie? Light gleaming from the treetops showed the entrence of morning.

Today was the day she would find Tarrzar....and them.

Quietly, Jesse listened. Tracing the forest in her mind. Listening...for a pawstep, a whimper, something. Then, she found exactly what she was scavenging for. Tarrzar must have read her mind. A howl. She had a sign!

Shew dashed west.
